Sunday Worship - Be warmly greeted as you enter the building and enjoy a hot mug of fair trade organic coffee. Enter the service and hear music offered by our Chancel Choir and professional musician Joel Gary. The service is lead by our Interim Pastor Terry Tessari who leads with humor, energy and inspiration. Sing, pray and reflect in a loving and nurturing environment. After the service visit in the family center, have cookies or even lunch on special occasions. Begin your week refreshed and motivated. Faith Alive - Gather for a free soup supper at 6:30pm, and then a service at 7pm, followed by bible study at 7:30. The evening concludes with prayer, sharing and mutual support at 8pm. Come for any part of the evening or for all of the activities. Everyone is welcome.
Palm Sunday - Palm Sunday at First Congregational Church marks the beginning of Holy Week as we re-experience the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. With palm fronds waving, we greet our savior who moves with purpose not to a coronation, but to crucifixion. Through music, scripture, prayer and spirit, we are inspired to join him in faithful following. Easter - Easter Sunday is the celebration of new life and the resurrection hope for all who receive and respond – trust and obey. As a congregation and individuals, we gather in the promise that there is more to life than life – that life is not fixed forever in unchanging ways, but is open to ever new possibilities of growth and change and transformation. Because he lives, we rise to walk in the newness of life in the here and now and the hereafter.
Memorial Service – This is a special service held each January as a time to recognize and share together the life of those who have died in the previous year. Together we are able to draw on God’s healing power. Christmas - The Advent/Christmas season at First Congregational Church is observed with special music, children’s programs, decorations and symbols of the season, outreach efforts because of our belief in Christ born – life transformed for each of us and all of us. |
